Gibbs and Abby are a fascinating duo. They are more than family, and without question the 2 closest characters on NCIS.
Abby is one of the few who can make Gibbs laugh, and Gibbs is one of the few who can make her feel safe.
There's faith, respect and love between the two, which makes the show that much more interesting to watch.
Are they friends, family, or more? According to Abby, they are tighter than blood (Episode 3.23: Hiatus), but if you ask me it doesn't matter. I have my preference, and I enjoy them nonetheless.
